There is a slogan made popular by John Lewis UK retailer that goes something like ‘never knowingly undersold’. A lot us are losing out on money be unknowingly being undersold that is to say we accept less than what we are worth.

One of the biggest challenges we all face is getting rewarded for our abilities to the level which we truly deserve. I myself have lost count of the number of times I went into a negotiation with a number in mind and ended up accepting whatever I had been offered. The question then is why do so many of us fail to understand and truly appreciate our value so that we are confident enough to walk away if we are undervalued?

This was the topic of our podcast this week as I sat with Business leader and Executive Coach Jane Oremosu as we dig deep into the reasons why we undervalue ourselves by allowing others to underpay us.
